What is a Callidus Off-Grid Power Centre
We build your system on a board, The board consists of all the necessary parts that would be required to work in conjunction with your solar array and your battery storage and also allow real time remote monitoring (internet connection required) Your job is to fix the board in a suitable dry place and plug & play (well maybe not quite so easy as that)
The batteries quote an impressive 3000 Cycles at 50% Partial State Of Charge with a very impressive re-charge time of 0.6 C10 which means that the batteries can be charged in less than an hour when they are discharged down to 50% State of Charge (SoC). The PSoC operation introduces nano-carbon technology to limit sulphate build up when the batteries are not fully charged regularly.
We need to consider 4 elements
1.Generation - 2.Storage - 3.Power Delivery - 4.Monitoring
1.Generation = Solar Panels & Generator
We supply a vast range of Solar Panels, this kit would come with our stocked house panel that can range from 320w through 340w depending on what bulk panels we have purchased.
Generators we don't supply them but we could provide some guidance on the correct Genny for the job. It is possible to overload generators with the power demanded by the Multi's charger. The following generator sizing's are indicative of those sizes are appropriate for the charging potential of the various multis. It is still possible to overload these generator sizing's with large loads, and flat batteries using the Power Assist function, so they should be treated as safe minimums to eliminate this as a potential cause of issues. A bigger generator is usually better.

1.Storage = Batteries
We will supply our new range of Advanced Energy Storage (AES) solutions batteries in this particular kit. The new AES range offers fast charging, an extensive cycle life and Partial State of Charge (PSoC) operation to reduce sulphation.
The batteries are ideal for off-grid energy applications such as remote/hybrid sites, grid scale energy storage, communications, cycling, renewables, marine and electric vehicles where back-up power is required and uptime is essential.
The AES series of sealed AGM batteries can be charged at 0.6 C10 which means that the batteries can be charged in less than an hour when they are discharged down to 50% State of Charge (SoC). The PSoC operation introduces nano-carbon technology to limit sulphate build up when the batteries are not fully charged regularly.
The cycle life of 3,000 cycles at 50% DOD (Depth of Discharge) offers a very long-lasting battery.
The AES range is manufactured by C&D Technologies, the parent company of Trojan Battery Company, C&D Technologies has been producing batteries for deep cycle applications for over 20 years.
3.Power Delivery = Inverter
The Victron Multiplus Inverter/Charger has two AC Outputs The main output has no break functionality.
The MultiPlus takes over the supply to the connected loads in the event of a grid failure or when shore/generator power is disconnected. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption. The second output is live only when AC is available on the input of the MultiPlus. Loads that should not discharge the battery, like a water heater for example can be connected to this output (second output available on models rated at 3 kVA and more).
Power Control - Dealing with limited generator, shore side or grid power The MultiPlus is also a very powerful battery charger.
It will therefore draw a lot of current from the generator or shore side supply (nearly 10 A per 5 kVA Multi at 230 VAC).
With the Multi Control Panel a maximum generator or shore current can be set.
The MultiPlus will then take account of other AC loads and use whatever is extra for charging, thus preventing the generator or shore supply from being overloaded.
Power Assist - Boosting the capacity of shore or generator power This feature takes the principle of Power Control to a further dimension. It allows the MultiPlus to supplement the capacity of the alternative source.
Where peak power is so often required only for a limited period, the MultiPlus will make sure that insufficient shore or generator power is immediately compensated for by power from the battery.
Solar energy: AC power available even during a grid failure The MultiPlus can be used in off grid as well as grid connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Loss of mains detection software is available. System configuring - In case of a stand-alone application, if settings have to be changed, this can be done in a matter of minutes with a DIP switch setting procedure. - Parallel and three phase applications can be configured with VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software. - Off grid, grid interactive and self-consumption applications, involving grid-tie inverters and/or MPPT Solar Chargers can be configured with Assistants (dedicated software for specific applications).
4.Monitoring = Cerbo & Touch
On-site Monitoring and control Several options are available: Battery Monitor, Multi Control Panel, Cerbo and Touch screen or Colour Control GX or other GX devices, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232). Remote Monitoring and control Colour Control GX or other GX devices. Data can be stored and displayed on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, free of charge. Remote configuring When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Colour Control GX or other GX device can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely
We supply the Board the batteries the solar panels battery connection cables and solar cables and the mounts for the panels. We need to know how you intend to mount the solar panels i.e. Ground or Roof.
