Product Details

The Victron AC Current Sensor – Single Phase – Max 40A is an external current sensor designed to measure AC current, power (VA), and calculate energy consumption in single-phase systems. It is specifically designed for use with Victron MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers. By connecting the sensor to the AUX and/or temperature sense input of the inverter/charger, the measured values can be displayed and sent to the VRM portal via the Color Control GX. This allows for real-time monitoring and analysis of energy usage, aiding in efficient system management and optimisation.

Product Specifications

Performance Specifications

  • Maximum Input Current: 40 A
  • Configurable Power Ranges: 1.5 kW, 3 kW, 5 kW, 7 kW (Selectable via onboard dipswitches)
  • Max Measured Current:1.5 kW range: 8 A3 kW range: 16 A5 kW range: 25 A7 kW range: 30.5 A
  • Power Step Size (230V AC): Approx. 9W to 35W (Depending on range)
  • Power Step Size (120V AC): Approx. 4.5W to 17.5W (Depending on range)
  • Maximum Number of Sensors: Up to 9 sensors in one system
  • Protection Category: IP54

Hardware Requirements

  • Microprocessor Compatibility: The Multi or Quattro inverter/charger must have a new microprocessor (firmware version starting with 26 or 27). Control boards with firmware starting with 19 or 20 are incompatible.
  • Input Connection: Connects to either the TEMP-sense input or the AUX-input of a Multi or Quattro. (Note: All TEMP-sense inputs are suitable, but only specific AUX-inputs are compatible based on hardware revision).
  • Communication: The Multi or Quattro must be connected to the VE.Bus port of a GX device (readout will not work via VE.Can interface).

Installation & Configuration

  • Setup: Pull one of the AC wires of the PV inverter through the sensor.
  • Dipswitch Configuration: Set the power range equal to or higher than the maximum expected PV power (e.g., use the 5kW setting for a 4kW installation).
  • Software Requirement: Requires the "AC Current sensor" assistant to be configured via VEConfigure3.
  • Multi-Phase Systems: For multi-phase installations, one sensor is required for each phase of the PV inverter and must be wired to the corresponding phase of the Multi or Quattro.

Compatibility NoteThis AC Current sensor (CSE000100000) is a specific accessory for PV yield visualization and should not be confused with the 100A:50mA Current Transformer (part number CTR110000500) used for other MultiPlus-II functions.
