The Victron Argodiode 80-2AC is designed for systems where you want to charge two separate battery banks (for example, a starter and a house battery) from a single alternator without ever allowing current to flow between them.

Unlike basic isolators, the AC version includes an energize or “excite” input so that alternators requiring a DC input to begin charging will operate correctly even when the isolator would otherwise block feedback current. In addition, the isolator uses high efficiency Schottky diodes to achieve low voltage drop, minimising charging losses.

The built-in compensation diode allows you to slightly boost the alternator’s output to compensate for the voltage drop across the diodes and cabling, helping to ensure full battery charge.

This model is suitable for both 12 V and 24 V systems, with a maximum alternator current (and battery current) of 80 A.
