The BAT512120740 is a high-capacity 200Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery that represents the next generation of simple, reliable energy storage. The NG stands for Next Generation, and the primary advantage of this model is its integrated Battery Management System (BMS). While standard lithium batteries often require external controllers and complex looms, the SuperPack NG has all its protection built directly into the casing.
This internal BMS constantly monitors cell balancing and protects the battery from overcharging or discharging too deeply. It also features an impressive 2C discharge capability. For this 200Ah model, that means it can deliver a massive 400A continuous discharge current, allowing it to handle power spikes from appliances that would stall other batteries.
Environmental protection is a core part of the design. The battery is rated IP65, making it resistant to dust and water spray, which is essential for marine engine rooms or dusty lockers. If you are travelling in cold climates, the automatic self-heating function ensures you never lose the ability to charge from your solar panels or alternator just because the mercury has dropped.
When you aren't using your vehicle, the physical on/off button on the top of the unit disables both charging and discharging. This puts the battery into a deep storage mode with an incredibly low self-discharge rate, ensuring that when you return to your boat or motorhome months later, your power is ready to go. For total peace of mind, you can monitor every detail, from individual cell voltages to your 30-day usage history, through the VictronConnect app via Bluetooth.
