Product Details

The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000 – 48V 5000VA Inverter/Charger – GX Version is a high-performance solution for off-grid, marine, and professional applications requiring reliable AC power. Combining a 5000VA true sine wave inverter, a 70A adaptive battery charger, and a high-speed AC transfer switch, it ensures uninterrupted power supply and efficient energy management.

The MultiPlus-II GX is designed for professional marine, vehicle, and land-based off-grid systems, offering isolation and redundancy required for energy storage setups. Its PowerControl feature prevents grid or generator overload, while PowerAssist boosts AC power during peak demand. In the event of an outage, the inverter switches over in milliseconds, keeping computers and sensitive electronics running without interruption.

Key Features & System Integration

  • Integrated GX Device: Includes an internal communication hub (equivalent to a Cerbo GX) for system configuration, monitoring, and control. It enables connection to the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal for remote access and data logging.
  • PowerControl & PowerAssist: Prevents overloading limited AC sources (such as a generator or shore power) by automatically adjusting battery charging. PowerAssist supplements the source with battery power during peak demand periods.
  • Two AC Outputs: The main output features "no-break" functionality, taking over the supply to connected loads in less than 20 milliseconds during a grid failure. The second output is live only when AC is available on the input, preventing non-essential loads (like water heaters) from discharging the battery.
  • Parallel and Three-Phase Operation: Up to 6 units can be connected in parallel to increase power output. Three units of the same model can also be configured for three-phase output.
  • External Current Sensor Option: Allows for the extension of PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50 A or 100 A.
  • Programmable Relay: Features a relay that can be configured for general alarms, DC under-voltage, or generator start/stop functions.
