Product Details

The NL1-100-2100/100-S 100A 2 Pole 100mA A Type Time Delayed RCD is a high-performance residual current device designed to provide reliable earth fault protection in commercial and domestic electrical installations. Manufactured by CHINT, this time delayed RCD is ideal where selective protection is required and nuisance tripping must be minimised, such as in distribution boards, sub-mains and high load circuits.

With a 100 amp current rating and 100 milliamp residual current sensitivity, this two-pole RCD quickly detects imbalance between live and neutral conductors caused by earth leakage faults. The Type A characteristic allows it to detect both standard AC leakage and pulsating DC leakage currents, making it suitable for circuits supplying modern electronic equipment and appliances.

The built-in time delay function provides improved discrimination between upstream and downstream protective devices. This helps prevent unnecessary power interruptions by ensuring only the affected circuit disconnects during transient or minor faults. It is particularly useful in installations where continuity of supply is important.

CHINT’s NL1 series RCDs are designed to meet recognised electrical safety standards, providing dependable protection for systems that require additional earth fault protection. This makes the unit suitable for use in both TT and TN earthing systems, as well as commercial, industrial and larger domestic installations.

The slimline design allows for easy installation into standard DIN-rail enclosures. Its compact construction saves space within consumer units and distribution boards, while the robust build quality ensures long-term reliability.

Whether you are upgrading an existing electrical system or installing new protective devices, the NL1-100-2100/100-S offers a practical balance of safety, performance and convenience for professional electricians and experienced DIY users alike.

Key Features

  • Selective Discrimination: The "S Type" time delay prevents "nuisance" tripping of the main upstream breaker, allowing downstream instantaneous RCDs to clear localized faults first.
  • Type A Versatility: Provides reliable tripping for both sinusoidal AC currents and pulsed DC residual currents, which are common in environments with modern electronics and power supplies.
  • Enhanced Protection: Protects users against indirect contacts and provides additional protection against direct contacts and fire hazards resulting from insulation faults.
  • Visual Status Monitoring: Features an integrated fault current indicator to provide immediate visual confirmation when the device has tripped due to a leakage fault.
  • Flexible Connectivity: Designed with high-capacity terminals compatible with standard cables and multiple busbar types for a secure and professional installation.

Standards & Compliance

  • Primary Standard: IEC/EN 61008-1
  • Directives: Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
  • Certifications: VDE Approved, CE Marked, SAA, RCC, EAC Verified
