The Victron Smart Battery Sense Long Range is an advanced wireless sensor that measures both the voltage and temperature of your battery bank. By accurately assessing these parameters, it ensures that your Victron MPPT Solar Charger delivers the correct charge voltage, compensating for any voltage loss due to cable resistance.
For lead-acid batteries, the sensor adjusts the charge voltage based on temperature: increasing it when the battery is cold and decreasing it when hot. For lithium batteries, it disables charging when temperatures are too low, preventing potential damage.
The sensor connects wirelessly via the VE.Smart Network, allowing for easy integration with multiple Victron devices operating on the same battery bank. Installation is straightforward, with the unit attaching directly to the battery using its self-adhesive strip and connecting to the battery terminals via eyelets.
This sensor is compatible with 12V, 24V, and 48V systems, making it a versatile choice for various applications, from residential solar setups to off-grid installations.
