Installation Requirements:
Our battery storage installation price is based on a simple, standard installation where the battery system can be fitted in an easy-access location, such as a garage, utility area, plant room, or another suitable ground-level location close to the existing electrical connection point.
To keep the installation straightforward and within the advertised price, the following conditions must apply:
- The battery storage system must be installed no more than 10 metres from the connection point.
- The cable route must be simple and accessible.
- Cables must not need to pass through roof spaces, loft spaces, or difficult-to-access areas.
- Cables must not run across paths, driveways, walkways, or areas where additional protection, trenching, or specialist routing would be required.
- The installation must be a direct and straightforward connection from the consumer unit or agreed connection point to the battery storage system.
- The installation area must be suitable, safe, dry, and accessible for the equipment and installer.
This standard installation price is intended for simple installations only. If the installation is more complex, requires longer cable runs, additional electrical work, cable protection, difficult routing, trenching, external works, or alterations to the existing electrical system, additional costs may apply.

How it works with a Solar system
When this Victron home battery storage system is set up to work with an existing solar installation, you would wire it into the mains and connect the blue CT clamp around the incoming supply. This CT detects the flow of power in and out of your property when there is excess solar the CT will detect this and allow the battery to charge. However, when there is no solar or little solar and power from the grid passes by the CT this will tell the battery to discharge and cover the load that the grid was supplying, this means that your bill will be reduced and your purchasing of electricity from the grid will be less
How this battery works with cheap rate electricity
If you don't have solar or even if you do have solar you can charge your battery from cheap overnight electricity using a smart meter or Economy7. This means that while you're asleep your battery system can come on automatically and charge from this cheap rate electricity and again turn off automatically, this is normally between 4 & 6 am. This would enable you to run your house on batteries for the remainder of the day depending on your usage.
Power during a powercut or blackout
Built into the Victron inverter charger is a secondary output which can be used in the event of a power cut to provide power from the batteries to keep your house powered with electricity to run things such as fridges freezers boilers and lights
Online monitoring
Built into the Victron is a GX device, this GX device will plug into your Internet connection or connect to Wi-Fi and allow you to monitor and control your system from anywhere in the world. This gx device is controllable from your mobile phone or laptop and allows you to make settings changes and to enable and disable charging schedules. It would also allow Callidus to come onto the system remotely and check that it's working correctly once you have set it up.
The kit needs to be installed by a competent person.
